Face – Ritidoplasty
Indications: Wrinkles and sagginess are inevitable consequences of the aging process. This surgery has the purpose of minimizing, at the same time, wrinkles and cutaneous flaccidity of the face and neck due to aging.
Anesthesia: local with sedation or general.
Surgery site: hospital.
Surgery Time: from 3 to 5 hours.
Hospital stay: about 24 hours.
Bath: from the 2nd day.
Postoperative: Recovery can be more or less fast, depending on the patient. Heavy physical activities may be practiced after 30 days. Sun exposure in beaches and swimming pools is not recommended while purple spots persist (ecchymosis, often mistaken for bruises).
Pain: The postoperative is mainly pain-free.
Bandage: The head remain bandaged for 24 hours. After this period, we leave the region exposed, without dressing. We start removing the stitches from the 7th day. Currently, there is a possibility of using absorbable suture or surgical glue, thus making it unnecessary to remove the stitches.
Scars: The scars are very little visible, because they are located in gaps, creases or angles selected within the scalp. However, they will naturally not disappear completely.
Risks: Serious complications with this type of surgery rarely occur. However, because it is a surgical procedure, unforeseen events may occur, which may be corrected later. These details will be thoroughly clarified in the appointment.
